The Top TEN Must-See Philippine TV Shows

I think this is my first time to list my top ten list of must-see Philippine TV shows. But before I do that, I would just like to make it clear that I am not affiliated to any of these productions or networks. I am just a plain blogger writing her list of favorites. So here it goes:

1. Kyle XY - this is my favorite so far. Can be seen in Studio 23, Mondays.
2. Criminal Minds - Studio 23
3. American Idol -  QTV 6pm-7pm and replays at 8:30pm-9:30pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays
4. Kung Fu Kids - ABS-CBN
5. Lobo - ABS-CBN
6. PBB Teen Plus - ABS-CBN
7. Palos - ABS-CBN
8. Life on a Plate - hosted by Angel Aquino and a Chef, Studio 23, Mondays 10pm
9. Games Uplate Live - ABS-CBN starts at 12mn and ends at 2:30am
10. Hana Kimi - either ABS-CBN or GMA version...both are okay.

GMA shows - 2/10
ABS-CBN shows - 8/10

I'm not saying that I am a Kapamilya and not a Kapuso viewer.. Like what I have said in my previous post, ABS-CBN shows are much clearer to watch and funkier too, so, I go for that. I love the QTV channel too. If I have to write my top 11-15 favorite, maybe it will compose mostly of QTV shows such as Lucy Gomez' talk show, Mom's, and those Koreanobela.

So how about you..what are your favorites?

Lobo

Starring: Piolo Pascual, Angel Locsin, Shaina Magdayao, Agot Isidro, and many other good people.

I can't believe myself for not being able to blog about this good show. Today, Angel Locsin (Lyka) has just realized that she is not a normal being after all. She's confused about her true heritage and is now looking for her mother. I give my heart to Angel Locsin for playing her role really good! I never thought I would appreciate her as I do right now--because frankly, while she was in GMA 7, I never watch her shows because for one......GMA's not as clear as the ABS CBN reception. Piolo is good too. Amidst all the rivers of accusations of being gay, he is still doing his best to entertain all of us! I am not sure how he handles himself whenever he has a "close" encounter with Angel Locsin.

I hope this will not end soon..

Rating:
Casts - ♥♥♥
Story/Script - ♥♥♥
Overall impact - ♥♥♥

Score System: ♥ - boring ♥♥ - fine, whatever ♥♥♥ - totally lovin' it!

On GMA and ABS-CBN

It's a fact that GMA's version of Marimar has clearly got the interest of the Filipinos worldwide and that left the ABS-CBN primetime shows with the a very low rating. I'm am not a Kapuso nor a Kapamilya fan, so I don't really give a heck on who's number one, this and that. What I look for in a tv network anyway is the quality of the tv reception they give their viewers. Since it's better to watch at the ABS CBN shows, I have grown to like the shows they have, even in their sister channel Studio 23. Ahh.. I am picky in choosing the TV shows that I watch too. I don't like shows that:

Contains dialogues which are not appropriate to hear. I can name a few shows that isn't really good at all like the "The Sobrang Gud Nite Show With Jojo A All The Way!" which is hosted by Jojo Alejar. He has humor, yes, but I just hate it when he tell jokes in other people's expense--and he laughs really hard. I don't think he has to go that far just to crack out jokes---is he pushing too hard? Another show that I refuse to watch now is Willy Revillame's Wowowee! I can't say that I totally hate his program because actually, I still sometimes watch it right now for the lack of good tv shows to watch. We don't have a cable connection, by the way. It's just that sometimes, he acts so hyperactively, he screams out loud like he's going to explode...ah! it just hurts my ears! Plus, he tells all those corny stuffs that isn't necessary at all. Yeah, everybody knows that they are trying to help out the needy--but I don't think he has to emphasize it every single Wowowee day.

Are poor with effects. Yeah. I know that it's really expensive to have all those animated graphics slash digitally made graphics in a 30-minute show. But I guess they could always use a little creativity as to not make the whole thing corny/funny. Sometimes, an action-superhero show turns out to be a trying hard comedy show. Tsk tsk. That is really pretty bad. I can't help myself but blurt this out ---GMA's not really good in digital animation.

Is a heavy-drama. Just like the "Maging Sino Ka Man" starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. I totally hate it!

I love TV programs that have/use/are:

Positive content/Educational and Informative. This is why I love Talk Shows so much. Not that I am so interested with the latest chismis, but because in the other side of it, you can actually dissect the hosts' messages which are really useful. Ellen Degeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Tyra, Boy Abunda, and Kris Aquino are few of the hosts that I like. I like the discovery channel and national geographic, it's just so informative. The Daily News is okay but sometimes, because of the "unpleasant" situation of the country right now, it makes me want not to watch at all.

Humor. The Takeshi's Castle is one of my favorites! It is just so funny. I like Going Bulilit too--those kids are just awesome! Gilmore Girls is a favorite of mine too.

English but if it is in Filipino, it's fine too as long as it is not offensive like Jojo A's. I am sometimes picky with the shows I watch. It is because I have been brought up by a Dad who doesn't want us to watch TV shows which doesn't use English as its primary language. Yeah. I didn't get to see more of Mara Clara or Ana Luna while I was younger because of my Dad's "supreme TV laws".

Based in real stories. AbS-CBn's XXX is my favorite.

Reality Game/TV Shows. My current favorites are the American Idol Season 7, Survivor, Kid Nation, and Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition.

Again, I don't care who's number 1 to them. For as long as they give away really cool tv shows and shows that satisfies my taste--it's okay.
