Ruben Gonzaga is PBB Celebrity Edition's Big Winner

For the past four PBB editions, this is the only time when I have placed a bet (literally) on somebody among the Big Four. I played against my sister who is watching the late night show of the BIG NIGHT with me. She keeps on telling me that Riza's going to win because she's the fairest among the Big four. But even if I love Riza (to the max) and wanted her to be the Big Winner, still I have felt deep within that Ruben Gonzaga's going to make it as this season's BIG WINNER! So much for beauty and style, it's  now time for the Bisayas and Comedians to reign and win the PBB crown!

Ruben Gonzaga's a Davaoeño like me, and I'm dead sure every Bisaya or Cebuano is so much proud of what he has become. He has proven that anybody is entitled to win such a huge competition no matter how he/she looks -- prestigious or not, and has proven that what's deep within matters over the superficial.

A few days ago, my mother was telling me that Ruben's really going to make it---and, he really did! I wonder if she had sent a vote or two just to support her bet. What's cool about Ruben Gonzaga? Unlike the other male "comedians" who became Kuya's housemates, he did not show any or at least haven't shown any obvious sign of womanizing inside the house. There were hot and pretty XXs who have gone in and out of Big Brother's house but he hasn't shown any sign of interest towards those ladies other than friendship. I know it has been hard for him to fit-in in a group full of "socialites", the famous, and just to add-- english and tagalog speaking individuals. He may have felt inferior in many instances, have tried really hard enough just to fit-in, but, everything's worth the try for he have captured each and every housemate's heart. He was even the most favorite housemate of the other housemates.

While inside the house of Big Brother, he has shown the perfect example of being a Filipino. How? He might have countless problems and things to be worried about before entering the house, not to mention leaving his family behind, but when he joined the show, he seemed to be just fine. He's laughing, making everybody else laugh, he jokes around, goofying, and getting so wacky even if he carries those little burdens with him plus the worries of fitting-in the group. Like most of the Filipinos, even we have so much problems, we still manage to smile, to cheer everyone up and act as if nothing's bothering us, yada, yada...and if encountered with small talks about family life and relationships, we get too emotional and sometimes cry over it, which is so Filipino. Then, after crying, we still manage to blurt out some stupid "hirits" and jokes then laugh out loud again. Ruben's like that, isn't he?

Also, among the other PBB seasons, this was the first time that somebody from Mars with XY genes have made it as the grand prix winner! Congratulations, Ruben Gonzaga! You truly are a true-blooded Pinoy! You truly are a pure-blooded Davaoeño!

Boy and Kris

How I love YouTUBE! I was browsing some filipino videos at youtube and as well as my new favorite singer Charice Pempengco and have found out that youtube's got me Boy and Kris' Charice Pempengco interview. Oh my.. I can't believe they're showing me this..it's like they have shown me some yoga classes which I badly need nowadays.. If ever Charice Pempengco's going to release her first album, surely I'll get myself a copy. I just love listening to singers who really has a talent like Marie Digby and of course, our very own Charice Pempengco. I hope to catch her in ASAP tomorrow after our church service. So here's Charice Pempengco's Boy and Kris Video courtesy of starwalker and Youtube. Enjoy!

On Marie Digby.. Like Charice Pempengco, she got herself popular just by posting some videos of her playing the guitar and singing in Youtube! Man, you see, stars have been born in just by posting videos in Youtube! I have also my share of videos..just key in in the search bar, kaikee07 and see me goof around. Who knows? I might end up as a stand up comedian and not as a nurse..

GMA Network and ABS CBN: The War is ON!

Just take a look at the video below and you'll see what I am talking about. I hope they will just show stuffs like toilet training boys 101 which will somehow help the Filipino people other than by spending attention and money towards the issue on ratings, et cetera.
This is a youtube video, so please stick around.

Sad, but the two pioneering networks such as ABS-CBN and GMA7 are again at war! It makes us sad that the politics and government are so much influenced by the media, but it is much sad to note that the media too is also influenced by politics! Evertyhing's just so ruined here in the Philippines. Everything's so corrupted. So what now if you're the number 1 TV network in the Philippines?? What makes you special? Why is it that nobody wants to be number 2? What's with getting the silver medal? Let's take a look back with some of the Philippine artists who did not make it as number one but still made it to the limelight... but wait.. let me just tell you about somebody who won the 2nd place and the silver medal but made it around the world!

Yeah! it's Charice Pempengco! So who says everything just ends in the singing competition? Charice made herself throughout the world, starred in some Korean tv show and a US tv show whose audience gave her a standing ovation. Beat that! I am just so proud of her. So please, stop the quarrel about who is number 1. The most important thing is that you just do your best, give your best shot and let the people decide who wins. In fact, you don't have to brag about it. Just wait until somebody like me, blogs you about your success.

CABLE TV

While I was walking with my friends Al and Mark around the Gulf View Executive Village last new year's day, I found this really interesting banner of Sky Cable offering their latest promo of cable tv for only below Php500 per month. Since we three are looking for some work related to our care giving and nursing skills, we are aware that some channels in the cable show skilled nursing facility directory which could help us in looking for work this 2008. I still haven't made a call to the cable company, but I am really interested in getting our tv line some cable channels. My favorite cable tv channels are Cinemax, nickolodeon, national geographic, HBO, sports tv, and Disney. If only I have no other bills to pay such as my broadband connection bill, I wouldn't really give a second thought on having a cable tv connection. Since I have no choice but to remain patient about the comeback of money, I will just keep myself posted for more announcements. For now, I will just be patient enough to watch all these local tv shows.

Kay Susan Tayo

Tomorrow will be Sunday and I bet I will be able to watch another episode of Kay Susan Tayo. It's not that I am one of Susan's fans, it's just that I totally love the whole content of the show. There was this one time that they actually shown some Las Vegas cosmetic dentists and how they do their work---the whole thing just amazed me! Also, one of my favorite episodes was when they went all over Australia just to show everyone how beautiful Australia is, how people live, how people party, work, what they eat, et cetera, et cetera. It's interesting to know that Australians actually love drinking beer and in fact they have more than one flavors of beer (and I envy them) and they enjoy drinking starting noon until late nights. For the Americans, they call such party-people alcoholics and suggest to bring themselves in some alcohol rehab facility to mend their "broken" selves. Weird but things happen differently in some areas of the world. But for the Philippines and Australia, men, Let's party up all night! Drink! Drink! Drink! Tomorrow, i'll watch more of those Kay Susan Tayo episode and I hope they'll show something more interesting than the past episodes.

PBB Celebrity Edition 2 : Who will win the prize?

After a long wait, PBB Celebrity Edition 2 is finally going to end! I hope I didn't sound as if I am already bored with the whole show, it's just that like all the other Filipinos around the world who watch Pinoy Big Brother, I am also excited on who's going to take the winning cup!

I am super and duper an avid fan of Pinoy Big Brother since it launched. I have watched all the players grow day by day during the game in each edition, and have not missed any single episode shown on ABS-CBN or on Youtube. Let me thank dear graciederf for the uploads. So, what makes this PBB season (PBB Celebrity Edition 2) different from all the other PBB seasons? Let me write my observations, react if you want.

1. Everything seemed almost perfect. The contestants were varied in the areas of personality, style, and "breed" but they got so close that the distance in the incidence of conflicts is so far that it can no longer separate the people apart. They fight but everything eventually mends after a while. Unlike the past PBB seasons, the conflicts gave way to barangay2x or group forming that each player actually or subconciously have to choose where to take side.

2. The players were more against the Big Brother as if they were competing against him and not with each other.

3. This was PBB's first time to have this 2-in-1 player thing which made the lives of the players involved so much harder to do.

and finally..

4. This was the first time where they allowed more than one house guest to stay for more than a day or a week. Like Ethel Booba and Marielle perhaps. (Im not really sure about this..hehe)

At first, I thought it will be Yayo, Ruben, Jon, and Baron will make it to the BIG FOUR..but it turned out that only Ruben made his way in. Now, who among the BIG Four (Ruben, Risa, Will, and Gaby) will make it to win the prize?

For me, I think it'll be Ruben (a fellow Davaoeño) who'll bring home the bacon this time. If my vibes will be true, I will be really proud. So, back here in one of the restaurants in La Jolla, I wish everyone will be happy to key in your vote to your favorite housemate. I'll be sending my votes too! Let's all watch the finale tonight!
